These little collections of letters are very popular. I know I’m not the first to put one of these together. My sister-in-law gave me a little hint on Facebook and I found myself sewing up a set.
I used my Cricut to cut letters out of freezer paper, then attached them to fabric using my iron. (A great little feature of freezer paper – the glossy side temporarily affixes to fabric when heated from the back!)
I then backed my fabric with flannel and sewed around the freezer paper pattern with cordonette thread. The result is a flexible alphabet that will stick to carpet, upholstery, curtains, or other fabric (kinda like flannelgraph).
